Project: Wringing Value From the IT Budget
At the request of the IT leadership of a Fortune 500 firm, DCA benchmarked the IT operations of a manufacturer with a $250M annual IT budget. We analyzed the budget through many lenses to see if the investment models, strategies, and operations were really having an impact on the company's performance. Pragmatic advice ranged from how to align the LOB's with IT as the company sets its corporate business goals, to how to make a shared services organization competitive with outside providers, to the need for program and project management functions to deliver IT capability more effectively.
Project: Executive Advisory Board
The CEO of mid-market software firm needed to re-ignite growth for his company; DCA designed and launched an Executive Advisory Board (EAB) drawing on executives from several of the vendor’s largest clients. The group, chartered with providing direct customer feedback and strategic advice for this executive, has recognized the knowledge sharing opportunity of its executive network and has agreed to meet on a regular basis.
We helped the vendor specify the purpose of the board and designed and facilitated the initial meeting. David Caruso presented research findings about important technology trends to the board and lead a lively discussion that gave direct feedback to the vendor and set priorities for its new product and R&D investment decisions.
