David Caruso is the founder and Principal of David Caruso & Associates, Inc, a consulting firm specializing in manufacturing, supply chain, and technology strategy.  David brings over 30 years of technology and manufacturing industry experience to his role. For the previous 8 years, David was Senior Vice President & Director of Research at AMR Research.  At AMR David led a staff of 100 IT researchers in all aspects of manufacturing and supply chain technology research.  In that role he advised executives of Fortune 500 manufacturing firms and all of the enterprise software and technology firms on product, technology, and go-to-market strategy.  While at AMR David was instrumental in the development of the Demand Driven Supply Network model which has been adopted as a standard by most ERP and supply chain software firms.  His specialty there was ROI and business case development for technology investment.

In addition, he has held several senior management positions in the software vendor business, including Dun & Bradstreet Software, Powersoft, and Cullinet Software. As part of his previous efforts within the manufacturing industry, David has designed and built numerous ERP systems and his work was awarded a patent in the area of workflow computing and distributed application design.  David also has extensive hands-on manufacturing management experience having works in operations at Digital Equipment, Data General, and Johnson & Johnson.

David is a frequently requested keynote speaker at industry events and maintains a high profile with columns, quotes, and by-lined articles in magazines such as Manufacturing Business Technology, Managing Automation, Fortune, and Business Week. In addition, he has hosted a DVD video series on supply chain trends, appeared on numerous television and radio shows and also sits on numerous boards and councils such as the annual Progressive Manufacturer award, and Infosys’ Leaders of Change executive advisory board.


Qin Deng is the founder of Supply Weaver who advises western companies how to manage extended supply chain to China, from supplier final qualification to supplier performance improvement and the integration of the supply networks.

Previously, Qin was an analyst for AMR research covering overall China market, he worked extensively with global companies to help them understand and execute China strategies on supply chain and enterprise applications. Qin also served as a supply chain analyst for IMI Norgren in UK, where he was responsible for analyzing forecasts, monitoring inventory, ordering, warehousing, and overseeing transportation across European sales companies. Qin started his supply chain career as a manufacturing engineer for IBM in China. In this role he directly supported ThinkPad production as well as research and development in Japan. He drove IBM’s initiative to move manufacturing from Japan, U.K., and Mexico to China. In addition, he setup IBM’s new laptop factory in Shenzhen, and worked as a project leader for several other manufacturing support and outsourcing projects.

Qin holds a Master’s degree in Supply Engineering and Logistics from the University of Warwick and a BSc in Power Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.


Peggy Wheeler brings over twenty years of hands-on operational experience in manufacturing companies.  She has managed sales, service, and supply chain operations at Teradyne, Summit Technologies, Computervision, Digital, and Polaroid. Her experience includes managing globally deployed operations and profitable product line start-up.  She is experienced in TQM methodology and has instructed in service, sales, logistics, and transportation concepts.

As the senior vice president of research operations at AMR Research, Peggy defined the rigorous research standards and processes used throughout the analyst organization.  She recruited and coached a team of analysts that provided the core research behind AMR’s reports.  She is a skilled meeting facilitator and effective in helping groups attain cross-organizational goals. Previous to this role, Peggy launched and lead the Customer Relationship Management practice, providing advice to LOB and IT leaders in Fortune 100 companies, systems integrators, and technology vendors. 

Peggy holds an MBA in Quantitative Methods and a BSBA in Finance from Babson College. She earned summa cum laude honors in both programs, earning Babson’s Mustard Award for academic excellence.

David Cahn, a veteran of the software industry, has strong business development and practice management skills and deep domain expertise in several industries.  He is a former research director at AMR Research, and has held Partner and Managing Director positions at KPMG LLP and Answerthink.  He also performed senior executive roles at Computer Associates.  David is a hands-on leader and is well known to press, analysts, software organizations and consortiums.

In addition to his strong software industry experience, David brings a network of over 4000 ISVs, SIs, Industry and financial analysts, VCs, and investment banking organizations to DC&A.  Through his industry contacts, David is well positioned to help clients raise capital funding and develop ISV/OEM channels. 

David advises software vendors about corporate development and product management and guides them through technology alliances.  With access to the data of over 45 reach organizations, he can combine the latest technology and business process information with his software industry knowledge to support due diligence for product releases, product roadmaps development, buy-build-partner decisions and M&A activity.

David is well qualified to help software providers achieve better execution of their business development, product marketing, channel, and direct sales efforts and to expand their indirect OEM channels and where required, he can directly assist with channel development and execution activities.

David has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BS in International Finance from Villanova University.  He also has an M.S. in Computer Science from Hofstra University.
